This Petaluma maternity photo shoot features Aimee and her husband Max who are getting ready to welcome their first baby into their family.

Both of them are very outdoorsy people so they wanted their portraits captured somewhere in nature. Aimee suggested Helen Putnam regional park, so we captured their portraits at sunset among the rolling hills of Petaluma.

About This Location

These photos were captured at Helen Putnum Park in Petaluma, California in mid April. At this time of year the California poppy’s are in full bloom and the grassy hills are lush and green.

From the parking lot, we took the Arroyo trail to Panorama trail. These photos were captured mostly at the top with some stops along the way for more photos.

Aimee is in very good shape so although this vista is breath taking, some women in the final months of pregnancy might find this route too challenging.

For women feeling drained during the final days of pregnancy, going part way up panorama trail (the steep way) is easier then doing the full loop if you’re okay with a partial view.
