This Sonoma County maternity photo shoot features a beautiful momma-to-be and her loving husband.
For their photos he really wanted portraits in the majestic redwoods, while she dreamt of photos by the sea.
To capture both, I mapped a rout that started in the redwood forests of Occidental, and continued out the the Bodega coast line.

How We Styled This Session
Since this Sonoma County maternity photo shoot took place at two very different locations we chose to style two outfits, one for each location.
Outfits For Redwood Forest Photos
For the photos in the redwoods I find that jewel tones play really well with the greenery. After discussing this with her during their planning call she chose a vibrant red dress which is a really nice compliment to the browns and greens of redwood forests. He dressed in navy blue pants and a maroon button up shirt which complimented her color without overpowering it. His outfit also tied well into the forest background completing the look.
Outfits For Beach Photos
The beach photos having a completely different color pallet needed different outfits to make them not look out of place. So once we got to the beach, she changed to a flowy white dress with bell sleeves. For the coast I find that Ivory, white and cream colors are hard to go wrong with. With this in mind he chose to dress in a matching white button down shirt and tan kaki’s to compliment the sandy beaches.
