Maternity portraits of woman in blue dress walking in a sonoma California field

Maternity Photoshoot

Today I’m excited to share Hazel’s second photoshoot with me as her and her husband Zee get ready to welcome their new baby into the world! I’d love to link to her previous session in this post, but much to my disappointment, her boudoir photo shoot is GZ4 classified. You’ll just have to trust me when I say that she has more than a few images I’d love to show off in my portfolio if I could!

The good news is that she said she’d be okay sharing her maternity photos from her session here which I’m super stoked about! A few of them look pretty different compared to what I typically see posted and I really like that!

Today’s post features my headshot session with San Francisco mural artist Maxfield Bala. Max is an amazing mural artist who has created murals for some well known companies including: Dropbox, Mountain Dew, The Hard Rock Hotel, Coca Cola, Samsung, DHL, Lagunitas Brewing Company and much more.

One of my favorite things to do is photograph my family for significant life events. Today’s post features my cousin Abbey’s maternity photo shoot I did for her. I love doing these sessions because I feel a little extra pressure to do the best thing I can so I won’t hate these pictures 20 years from now.

Church of the Incarnation Wedding

Church of the Incarnation Wedding

There are few things I cherish more then getting to create life event images for my family. Today I want to share this Church of the Incarnation wedding I captured for my uncle Rod and his lovely bride Marian.

Capturing images for family guarantees that I’ll be reflecting back on these images forever. It’s important to me that I not reflect back with embarrassment for not doing a better job. In an attempt to maximize my chance of looking back on these images favorably, I try to focus on creating images with timeless qualities. My theory is that if renaissance paintings have timeless qualities about them, this establishes a roadmap to create images that are both beautiful today and into the future.

Ever since the first time I stepped inside it I knew I would eventually do a shoot here. Spend just a few minutes inside and you’ll see why. Fort Point is a literal treasure trove of amazing light patterns and dynamic backdrops that cast dramatic shadows on cloudless days and offers countless soft light possibilities.

Before and after photos from Christina's portrait photo shoot

Christina’s Portrait Session

This was not my first photo shoot with Christina. Her first photo shoot actually consists of some of my favorite images ever, and yet few people have actually had the opportunity to see them. Christina’s first session with me was actually boudoir photo shoot she gifted to herself after going though her divorce. Her boudoir photo shoot was intended to give her an epic self confidence boost which inevitably happens when going though such an emotionally trying period.
