Curvy Boudoir Outfits That Will Enhance Your Shilloutte

As a boudoir photographer I’m often asked for advice regarding curvy boudoir outfits that will flatter plus size body types. There are absolutely some styles that will help enhance the features of larger ladies better than other choices.

By slimming your waist line with a corset for instance, you will not only feel more confident for your boudoir session, but your photos will also turn out better as well.

To take all the guess work out of finding curvy boudoir outfits, I’ve indexed this page by the lingerie styles that will best enhance a larger frame. The following are my current favorite pieces I recommend to my clients

  1. Corsets
  2. Balconette Bras
  3. Chemises & Bodysuits
  4. Babydolls

Corsets As Curvy Boudoir Outfits

This client lost 100lbs before doing her session with me.

Corsets are one of the best curvy boudoir outfit choices you can make. For plus size ladies with diamond or rectangle body shapes, reducing the size of the waist line to get you closer to an hourglass shape will enhance your shilloutte.

Corset’s aren’t just useful for cinching in your waist line though, they’re also a really good for tummy concealment if you’re worried about stretch marks or loose skin.

Corsets are pretty magical for all women because they basically enhance the natural hourglass shape of your body. By cinching in the waist and shaping you bust, corsets exaggerate your bust to waist and waist to hip ratios.

Balconette Bras As Part Of a Curvy Boudoir Outfit

Balconette bras usually work very well for curvy ladies. The reason for this is because balconette bras are designed so the cup is horizontal. This creates a lift upwards like a balcony, but not inwards.

The balconette is basically designed like a shelf and gives your breasts lift. The result of this type of support for bustier women is enhanced cleavage to show off in your photos.

Balconettes are not only just good for well endowed women though. Mothers who have had children can usually benefit from balconette style bras also.

This is why balconette styles are very popular and available in tons of different configurations. For instance you’ll see balconette tops built into the design of some corsets, chemises, and gowns.

A chemise is lingerie that covers the bust, torso and hips in one garment. You’ll sometimes also see them called nightgowns or slips. For your boudoir session curvy body types should usually go for the form fitted designs with with good bust support.

Chemises are really great curvy boudoir outfits because of the tummy concealment and bust support they offer. Some designs can be sheer, while others will be more conservative semi sheer or non see through materials.

You can find chemises all around the internet available in various styles and levels of quality. The lower end pieces will generally look cheaper and not fit as well. High quality pieces will definitely look better in your final photos.

Babydolls As a Curvy Boudoir Outfit

Babydolls are an excellent style to look into for your boudoir photo shoot. Make sure and choose options with bust support if you  need it.

They come in many different cup styles and levels of modesty. Babydolls basically should have some sort of built in bra to enhance your bust and then some sort of a skirt that comes off of the top.

Non see though options are generally made from nylon, satin, chiffron or silk and offer very good concealment for the tummy, torso, hips and butt.

High Waist Panties As Part Of A Curvy Boudoir Outfit

High waist panties might make you think of granny panties, but the truth is there’s some high waist panty options out there that will actually enhance a curvy figure. These High waist options are also very good for mothers and women who’ve lost significant weight.

Another reason these are so great is because the lower tummy is one of the last areas we loose fat from on our bodies. Most women have insecurities around the lower tummy area. High waist panties offer a sexy way to conceal that area while still being able to showcase your butt.

Garters & Thigh High Stockings As Part Of A Curvy Boudoir Outfit

Some chemises and body suits have built in garter hooks that you can attach stockings to. For outfits that don’t have garter attachments you can get garter belts that you wear over the rest of your ensemble. Usually garter belts are done over a thong or bikini brief for example.

The benefits of this kind of outfit for a curvy body type is that it offers a sexy minimalist style cover for the lower tummy. It also can give great concealment to the thighs if you have cellulite there you’d like smooth out.
